Remove your machine from a cabinet
Most machines in a cabinet have two release screws that allow the machine to be removed.
Before you start, please note that if your cabinet has a knee-activated foot control (mounted to the cabinet), you will usually not need to remove it unless it is defective, since we have many types of foot controls at the shop.
The screws to remove the machine are directly in line with the hinges under the very back edge of the machine. They are usually smaller black, slot-head screws, and sometimes are painted red. See the picture below to help find them.
Once you have located the screws, you are ready to remove the machine. You will need a helper for this, since the machine is quite heavy. Have your helper stand behind the machine to hold it while you loosen the screws several turns. You can take the screws all the way out, but just be careful not to lose them! Once they are loose enough, you will be able to lift the machine straight up off of the hinges. Again, please be careful since the machine is heavy and awkward in this position!
Once the machine is removed, be careful where you set it down, since the feet of the machine may be dirty and/or oily.
